Candy AI is a legitimate company, not a scam. Whether it is safe for you depends on what you share: its own privacy notice allows training on chats and sharing with model providers. If that matters, keep personal details out of chats, or choose an app with stricter terms.

EverAI Limited is registered in Malta under number C107181, with an address at Central Business Centre, Santa Venera, according to Candy AI’s own terms and privacy notice. Third-party sources date Candy AI’s launch to 2023. EverAI’s recruiting page claims 50 million users, which is self-reported. I did not check the Malta Business Registry directly.
The privacy notice lists what Candy AI collects: email, password, nickname, gender, age-verification results, IP and approximate location, chat prompts and outputs, token balance, partial payment data and device data. It says chats may be used to train and develop AI and moderation models, possibly with human review, after aggregation or de-identification, and that chat content may go to third-party LLM providers. Data can be transferred outside the EU, including to the US.
In practice: write as if a reviewer might one day read a de-identified excerpt. Leave out your name, workplace and anything that identifies other people.
Payments go through providers named in the privacy notice (Emerchantpay, TrustPay, Volt, Coingate, UpGate), and the card descriptor is “EverAI”. Refunds are possible only within 24 hours, with no more than 20 tokens used, for card payments; crypto payments are not refundable. See Candy AI pricing.
The terms require legal age and allow EverAI to request more information to verify or re-verify it; the privacy notice mentions third-party age-verification providers without naming them. One reviewer saw only a self-declared age gate. Character age in the builder is set from 18 to 55.
Candy AI has no App Store or Google Play app; its site explains how to add the web app to your home screen. Apps named “Candy AI” in the stores come from other developers. Do not enter Candy AI login or card details in them, and avoid APK downloads.

The privacy trade-offs are real, though: chats may be used to train AI models with no opt-out described, chats may go to third-party LLM providers, and account data is kept up to three years after your last activity.
